How did our product come about?

For many years, Germany was the leader in the development and production of link chains, even though they were used on motorcycles and bicycles. With the decline of two-wheeler manufacturers, German manufacturers also disappeared from the market. The top products in the field of drive chains therefore mainly came from Japan. For 20 years now, there has once again been a German brand product in the kart chain sector with the name “Panther Kart Chain”. Shortly after the market launch, we quickly made a name for ourselves thanks to the outstanding quality and even won the official karting world championship with Nyck de Vries in 2010.

The challenge in developing a kart chain lies in the special requirements profile compared to normal industrial applications and cannot be compared with each other in the slightest. This is because the drive power of a kart engine must be transmitted with as little loss as possible, but the small wrap angle of the engine sprocket plays against this characteristic. The critical factor in the design is above all the torque to be transmitted. Shear and bending forces caused by the twisting of the chassis when changing direction make the design even more difficult. And that's without even mentioning assembly and maintenance errors and external influences such as touching down on a curb.

Our “Panther Kart Chain” represents an innovation in drive technology. Due to its design features and the selected manufacturing technology, it is characterized by high dynamic strength and sets new standards in terms of wear resistance with insufficient lubrication. All this with an extraordinarily high efficiency (~98%*), which is not comparable with existing products (~95%**). The choice of materials in combination with state-of-the-art production technology enables minimal tolerances and an optimum end result for our customers. Chains and individual components are produced 100% in Germany and undergo strict quality controls. Every batch is checked in our in-house quality laboratory and tested for the correct breaking load on our breaking machine.
